The tourist train is a great way to travel around a town and helps visitors to get a feel for an area, which can be really useful on arrival, as well as providing cheap travel throughout a holiday.

Departs every 20 minutes from 09AM to 11PM all year. Runs until 01AM from June to end September and also at Easter and Carnival. At New Year’s and August 20th holiday it runs until 4AM.

It runs in one direction between the Areias de São João just off the Strip, the Old Town and then to a stop outside the Brisa Sol Hotel (close to the Modelo shopping centre) and then back to Areias de São João. The round trip takes about three quarters of an hour.
